Sperry sends out approximately 500 boxes with marketing materials to their independent retail partners every quarter. The recipients of those boxes would receive them, but let them sit around for months. By the time they got around to opening them, the materials were irrelevant. Sperry needed to find a way to make their marketing pieces impactful and encourage recipients to open them.
The Ambit Works came up with a creative way to package Sperry’s marketing materials. Instead of a boring cardboard box with all of the cool, marketing materials inside, The Ambit Works used custom packaging with interesting creative on the outside. Each package reflects the seasonal theme and is designed to inspire the retailer to carry out Sperry’s vision for the season. These pieces stand out and generate excitement about what’s inside to anyone that sees them.
While many direct mail pieces will direct the reader to a website, variable data printing allows for a unique personalized URL (PURL) to be printed on each individual piece. The PURL then displays a personalized offer or information unique to the recipient, providing an extremely targeted online experience stemming from an impactful direct mail piece.
